A major championship comes to North Texas
Golf hasn’t seen a men’s major in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in more than sixty years, and in 2027 that changes. The PGA Championship heads to Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco, with championship rounds set for Thursday through Sunday, May 20 to 23, 2027. It’s a new kind of major week: not a storied old-money club, but a purpose-built golf campus that the PGA of America designed, in part, with exactly this event in mind.

PGA Frisco is the PGA of America’s home, a roughly 600-acre campus in Frisco, Texas, built around two championship golf courses, the PGA of America’s headquarters building, and the Omni PGA Frisco Resort. The tournament course, Fields Ranch East, is a Gil Hanse design built with major championships in mind, stretching to a serious par-72 test with the width and green complexes meant to hold up to the best players in the world.
